So I’m in the midst of planning my very first EVER international vacation. Like the whole sha-bang- passport and all. Fortunately for me, my sister “the Spanish teacher” will be backpacking across Europe this summer, and I’m going to join her in Spain.
I’m slated to leave in less than 60 days. Oddly enough, for the first time EVER all the intricate details are starting to become overwhelming. For all whom I have not yet had the pleasure to meet; I am a bit of a control freak when it come to certain things. This type of planning is one of them.
I’ve read ton’s of “what to pack”, “what not to pack”, and “where to go” articles. I’m semi prepared on that end. As you never REALLY never know what’s going to happen, right? One can only plan.
It’s the pre-execution part that’s daunting. Lining up my itinerary, reviewing associated costs, and pre-purchasing euro-rail passes, tour reservations, etc. Last but not least what’s most unnerving is that I’ll be so far away from home “just in case“ I have an emergency.
I still have unanswered questions.
- Should I pack my canon in my checked luggage?
- How much is too much for a functional carry on bag?
I would never cancel my trip. Although I’m venting I’m completely, and utterly ecstatic about this opportunity. Have you ever encountered pre-travel jitters? How did you overcome?
